Fuel prices rise, diesel prices stable for December

DUBAI/ ABU DHABI: The Fuel Price Follow-up Committee announced that fuel prices rose while diesel prices remained stable for December compared to November.

The price of Super 98 rose to Dhs2.24 per litre for December, up from Dhs2.20 in November, while the price of Special 95 rose to Dhs2.12 per litre for December, up from Dhs2.09 in November and the price of E-plus 91 rose to Dhs2.05 per litre in December, up from Dhs2.02 in November.

Diesel prices remained stable at Dhs2.38 per litre.

UAE-JAPAN TRADE

The total value of the UAE trade with Japan reached around Dhs90 billion in the first nine months of this year, down by around four per cent compared to the same period last year in which the total value of trade reached Dhs93.64 billion.

According to the data of the Japan External Trade Organizati­on (Jetro), the UAE’S exports to Japan fell by no more than two per cent to Dhs70.79 billion in the first nine months of this year, down from Dhs72.08 billion in the correspond­ing period last year.

The UAE’S imports from Japan fell by around 11 per cent to Dhs19.2 billion in the first nine months of this year, down from Dhs21.57 billion in the same period last year. By this, the surplus of the UAE balance of trade with Japan rose by around two per cent to Dhs51.56 billion in the first nine months of this year, up from Dhs50.5 billion in the same period last year.

Recently, a UAE delegation, headed by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environmen­t, MOCCAE, concluded its visit to the Japanese capital Tokyo. The visit aimed to promote collaborat­ion on various environmen­tal fronts and allow the delegation to explore best practices and technologi­es in Japan’s agricultur­al and fisheries sectors.

The delegation comprised Salah Al Rayssi, Acting Assistant Under-secretary for the Biodiversi­ty and Marine Life Sector at MOCCAE, and a host of representa­tives of private sector companies in the UAE.
