- Mona Al Badawi, Staff Reporter

AL AIN/ DUBAI: An Arab woman has been fined Dhs20,000 plus ordered to be deported by Al Ain Court for advertising medicines through Snap Chat and practicing the profession of a pharmacist without meeting conditions stipulated by law.

Her compatriot friend was fined Dhs10,000. Police was alerted about an Arab woman who advertised drugs and sexual stimulants on Snap Shat, requesting users to contact her. She reportedly offered the products for between Dhs350 and Dhs500 per package.

The suspect would meet customers to discuss price, delivery place and time. She would then deliver the products in her private car with the help of a compatriot woman.

The police set a trap to arrest the suspects. A security officer contacted them pretending to be a customer. They agreed on the price, place and time of delivery. They met in a place when the police raided and arrested them.

When the car was searched, the products the women sold were found.

The Public Prosecution charged the two women with practising a profession without licence. They sold sexual stimulants and immoral devices.

The first suspect confessed to the charge, noting she used to buy products from a market in one of the emirates and sell them through Snap Chat. She pointed out that her friend did not have any role, but only delivered the products.

The second suspect denied the charge, denying the investigation report about her helping the first suspect to sell the products.

KIDNAP

Four Asian men were referred to the Criminal Court by the Dubai Public Prosecution for impersonating CID members and atempting to kidnap a compatriot man.

The suspects who were wearing the Emirati dress reportedly stopped a man on a street and ordered him to get into their car ater beating him up. They drove the car and on the way, they ordered the victim to deliver them his wallet, containing (Dhs1,600) and anything else he had, the Court heard.

The victim stated the suspects claimed they were CID members as they were speaking Arabic. They requested him to show his ID claiming he was wanted by security authorities, he added.

Ater seeing his ID, the suspects punched him and ordered to get into their car.
