AD CP expresses pride in UAE diplomacy, passport

ABU DHABI: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received on Tuesday, the UAE Passport Power team from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Internatio­nal Cooperatio­n, in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Internatio­nal Cooperatio­n.

Sheikh Mohamed praised the team’s efforts and roles played to strengthen the UAE passport and its status as the world’s most powerful passport, under the guidance and support of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed.

“With the UAE passport attaining first place in the Global Passport Power Rank, Emirati efforts have added a new historic achievemen­t to the nation’s record of achievemen­ts,” Sheikh Mohamed enthused.

Separately, in line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohamed approved developmen­t projects worth Dhs3.86 billion in Al Dhafra.

ABU DHABI: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received on Tuesday, Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs of India, at the Beach Palace in Abu Dhabi.. sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed and Swaraj reviewed the distinguis­hed ties between the two countries, and discussed opportunit­ies to further enhance bilateral cooperatio­n in diplomatic arenas and trade and investment sectors.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional and internatio­nal developmen­ts, as well as issues of mutual concern.

Dr. Anwar Bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Sultan Bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Chairman of the National Media Council, and ADNOC Group CEO, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, and Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Banna, UAE Ambassador to India.

UAE PASSPORT

The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince underscore­d the weight of this achievemen­t, adding that it embodies the UAE’S global diplomatic image under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and relects the deep respect, esteem and trust the nation enjoys in regional and internatio­nal arenas.

The MOFAIC team expressed their thanks and appreciati­on for the continued support provided by the UAE leadership.

The UAE passport was ranked No. 27 in December 2016 on the Global Passport Power Rank index. In October this year, it rapidly notched higher to No. 4. Then it went up to No. 3 on 8th November, with Emirati citizens able to ly to 163 countries without securing a visa prior to departure just behind Singapore and Germany, whose citizens are able to travel visa-free to 165 countries. Four more countries were added to the UAE list as of 1st December 2018, making the UAE passport the most powerful passport globally.

PAN-AFRICAN PRESIDENT

Sheikh Mohamed received the President of the Pan-african Parliament, Roger Nkodo Dang.

During the meeting, held at the Beach Palace in Abu Dhabi, the two sides discussed parliament­ary cooperatio­n between the UAE and the African continent. Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, FNC, was present during the meeting.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed and Roger Nkodo Dang exchanged views on the roles of parliament­s, and how they can address issues concerning their peoples, and their aspiration­s to achieve stability and security in their developmen­t pathways. The two sides also covered regional and internatio­nal developmen­ts.

CONDOLENCE­S

Sheikh Mohamed has offered his condolence­s on the death of Mubarak Rashid Salem Al Ghali.

While visiting the mourning majlis on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, His Highness expressed his heartfelt condolence­s and solace to the family of the deceased, praying to Allah the Almighty to rest his soul in Paradise.

Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, who accompanie­d Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, also offered his condolence­s to the deceased’s family.
