Dubai Police deny rumours about youth on fire

DUBAI: Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police for Criminal Investigat­ion, denied the news about a young MAN WHO HAD CAUGHT IRE INSIDE a shopping mall in Dubai. Al Mansouri added that the incident, a video of which was shared on social networking sites, never happened in Dubai Mall, as claimed by some rumourmong­ers.

The video was well scrutinise­d, AND IT HAS BEEN CONIRMED THAT THE place shown in the video was not Dubai Mall, said Al Mansouri. He SAID THAT THE POLICE AND IRE BRIGADE never received any report on the supPOSED ‘IRE INCIDENT’. HE ALSO ADDED that the Bur Dubai Police Station, OR THE POLICE OFICERS AVAILABLE IN Dubai Mall, too did not notice any such incident at the mall.

Al Mansouri pointed that some people may intend to harm the reputation of Dubai, due to the prestigiou­s position it has gained, to gain cheap publicity. He called on the people to avoid spreading rumours, and to ensure the authentici­ty of the informatio­n they plan to broadcast, to avoid facing the consequenc­es.

A source at Dubai Civil Defence TOO CONIRMED THAT NO SUCH INCIDENT took place in any of the Dubai-based malls, including The Dubai Mall. The SOURCE CONIRMED THAT NO SUCH INCIDENTS were reported. The 58-second video recorded in a shopping mall showed THAT A YOUNG MAN HAD CAUGHT IRE AFTER his portable charger connected to his mobile phone exploded in his pocket.

The video also showed the mall visitors and staff attempting to put OUT THE IRE.
