Maitha Al Shamsi receives Costa Rican envoy

ABU DHABI: Dr Maitha Bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State, has received Francisco Chacon Hernandez, Ambassador of the Republic of Costa Rica to the UAE.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.

Dr Al Shamsi welcomed the Costa Rican Ambassador and wished him success in his mission in the UAE. She also hailed the growing ties between the UAE and Costa Rica.

The Minister of State said that the UAE’S wise leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, are keen on supporting and strengthen­ing ties between the two nations.

Dr Al Shamsi reviewed the achievemen­ts attained by Emirati women at the local and internatio­nal level, adding that the UAE leadership has supported women to improve their societal positions in various ields.

She also praised the active role played by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Developmen­t Foundation, for her continuous support to Emirati women.

Hernandez hailed the achievemen­ts accomplish­ed by the UAE across all ields, especially with regards to gender equality and the empowermen­t of women.
