Pak schools reaffirm national solidarity
DUBAI: Young students from twelve community schools participated in “Iqbal and Sheikh Zayed – Tribute to the Two Great Visionaries” through different activities including poster competition, tableau, essay writing and debates competition and ba ti bazai (Urdu poetry couplets competition).
The event was organised by Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) and attended by hundreds of students in a bid to familiarise them with the great philosophy and poetry of Dr Muhammad Allama Iqbal and Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s vision of UAE and its culture. Syed Javed Hassan - Consul General of Pakistan, was the chief guest.
The event and its all activities were associated with the messages of Allama’s poetry and visions of the founder of UAE, His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
In the debates competition, Erum Majeed of Islamia English School Abu Dhabi, grabbed the 1st Position; while Noor ru Rehman of Pakistan Islamia School Ras Al Khaimah 2nd; Azka Fatima of Islamia English School Abu DHABI 3rd; Zilkiil of Pakistan ISLAMIA School Fujairah 3rd; and special prize for Aroosa Kanwal of Pakistan Islamia School Sharjah.
In the essay writing competition Fatima Imran of Islamia English School Abu Dhabi got 1st place; Abdullah Ahmed of Pakistan Islamia Higher secondary School Sharjah 1st place; Arsh Shahbaz of Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School Sharjah 2nd place; Saliha Aftab of Pakistan Islamia School Ras Al Khaimah 2nd place; Shafaq Hola of Pakistan Education Academy 3rd place; Rafah Zahid of Pakistan Islamia School Abu Dhabi 3rd place; Iqra Bibi of Shiekh Rashid Pakistan School Dubai 3rd place and Nasreen Fida Hussain of Omar Bin Khattab School Ajman special prize.
In the poster competition, Abiha Ali of Pakistan Islamia School Sharjah took 1st place; Nida Farhat of Islamia English School Abu Dhabi 2nd place; Dhani and Neha of Sholars International Academy Sharjah got 3rd place; and Nida Moham- mad of Pakistan Community School Mussafah Abu Dhabi 3rd place. The consolation prize went to the Happy Home School Sharjah.
In the Baitbazi competition Arooj Chaudhry, Amna Abdul Raouf, Amna Muhammad Ilyas from Pakistan Islmia Higher secondary School Ras Al Khaimah grabbed 1st place; Habiba Sehar, Hadia SAMAN AND AYSHA Raique From Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School Sharjah got 2nd place; and Aazmer Khan, Sumiya Sultana and Izzah Fatima from Islamia English School Abu Dhai took 3rd place.
The overall 1st place trophy was grabbed by the Islamia English School Abu Dhabi.
Hassan said in his speech: “Schools should include Iqbal’s poetry and his message for character building. Iqbal’s ideology is the basis of creation of Pakistan should be conveyed to our younger generations.”
Dr Faisel Ikram, President of PAD, thanked all the schools, teachers and students for their active participation in events, he also praised the tableau performances by various schools.
