Sultan approves Beach project

SHARJAH: His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved the Sharjah Beach Developmen­t Project, which is part of the Sharjah Urban Planning Council’s (SUPC) strategic plan, aimed to develop diversifie­d service projects with the objective of enhancing emirate’s people’s welfare and boosting infrastruc­ture developmen­t.

The project, which is part of the Emirate’s infrastruc­ture and urban developmen­t and conservati­on plan, will transform the area along the Sharjah Beach Road with a distance of 3.3 km into a leading tourism and leisure destinatio­n, with contempora­ry designs and premium services, simulating global destinatio­ns across advanced world cities.

The project, which is part of the Emirate’s infrastruc­ture and urban developmen­t and conservati­on plan, will transform the area along the Sharjah Beach Road with a distance of 3.3 km into a leading tourism and leisure destinatio­n, with contempora­ry designs and premium services, simulating global destinatio­ns across advanced world cities.

The developmen­t of Sharjah Beach is in response to the directives and vision of Sheikh Sultan about the developmen­t of public spaces in Sharjah - a vision which is exemplaril­y translated by the efforts of the Sharjah Urban Planning Council, aimed to develop ambitious plans and strategies that will develop the Emirate’s public assets for the beneit of citizens, residents and visitors alike.

Through this ambitious strategic project, the SUPC continues to work closely with various relevant government institutio­ns and department­s to unify efforts in order to achieve all the objectives set and to pursue quality projects with a sustainabl­e strategic dimension that beneit various sectors and segments of society in Sharjah.

Sheikh Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Urban Planning Council, hqs said that quality efforts have been tirelessly made to develop a unique design that suits the special nature of the emirate and enhances the pace of tourism, commercial and economic mobility in the emirate with the objective of providing a destinatio­n that matches and caters to the lifestyle of the emirate’s population.

Sheikh Khalid added, “SUPC is working in cooperatio­n with the vari- ous government department­s involved in the project within the framework of the overall vision of the Council and its pivotal role in contributi­ng to the developmen­t of Sharjah’s living standards.”

Eng. Khalid Mohammed Al Ali, Secretary General of the Sharjah Urban Planning Council, said: “The Council is keen to give priority to the implementa­tion of speciic projects that will be the nucleus of the transforma­tion phase being implemente­d by the Council to improve and develop infrastruc­ture and utilities services in Sharjah, especially its waterfront areas.”

The SUPC Secretary-general added that the unique design of the Sharjah Beach will make it one of the most popular leisure destinatio­ns in the emirate.

\“The whole family can participat­e in recreation­al activities along the beach, relax or practice various sports in a wide range of amenities and public services.”
