XPOSURE WINS EXCELLENT RESPONSE
The photography festival concluded on Saturday
The second edition of the Sharjah International Photography Festival (Xposure 2017), organised by Sharjah Government Media Bureau at Expo Centre Sharjah, concluded on Saturday. A high profile event featuring a gathering of the world’s most celebrated photographers, the festival has sparked region-wide engagement and inspiration. Themed ‘Captivating Stories’, Xposure 2017 included 27 indoor and outdoor exhibitions, featuring work by 32 internationally recognised photographers and being held at public places in Sharjah and Dubai. Since its launch last year, the festival has been a major inluence in disseminating the best of world photography, and played the role of a springboard for contemporary creative talents in photography in the UAE and the larger Arab region.
Xposure 2017 has been even more successful in adding value to the insights and experiences of both professionals and emerging talents, who locked in by the hundreds and made the most of the Festival’s rich photo exhibitions, informative workshops, engaging talks, and latest photography merchandise.
A lot many visitors who came in seeking professional advice say the tips and tutorials have been critical to their development as visual artists, and say they are now ready to take better photographs.
Dr Saleem Moopen, an eye specialist by profession and a passionate photographer, said that the Xposure enriches the visitors’ understanding of the art of photography and helps them better their craft.
Another visitor, Joel, said that the festival has been immensely useful to aspiring photographers. It has helped them identify their area of interest.
