VP hailed for promoting values of tolerance

DUBAI: Dr. Hanif Hassan Al Qasim, Chairman of the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancemen­t and Global Dialogue, has praised the initiative of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to name the most beautiful pedestrian­s bridge in Dubai the “Tolerance Bridge”, which will strengthen and promote the values of tolerance around the world.

Al Qasim said that Sheikh Mohammed’s statement on the occasion of the Internatio­nal Day for Tolerance, that tolerance and the UAE are two sides of one coin, and that tolerance is a fundamenta­l value of the country and a safeguard for its future developmen­t, as well as his statement to CNN where he welcomed anyone who would like to copy the UAE’S model and that what is happening in the region is not instabilit­y but a challenge that Everyone must FACE, relects THE AWARE vision of a wise leadership and helps to promote the UAE’S civilised stature. The Emirati experience has become a global model that many countries seek to follow, he added.

He also praised the strategic plan of the Ministry of Tolerance that was declared by Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, to promote the values of tolerance, which were inspired by the approach and ideas of the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The plan includes key pillars that constitute a working philosophy, WHICH relects THE true values of THE Emirati community, including its desire to co-operate with all other countries to establish the concepts of tolerance, peace and compassion around the world.

Al QASIM AFIRMED that tolerance in the UAE is a source of strength and stability and a valuable tool in avoiding Internatio­nal Conlicts AND violence.
