According to monitoring results in the capital, relative activity in the dynamics of the landslide process was registered under the influence of natural and technogenic factors in the landslide zone Zykh-1 in the Surakhani district.

In addition, a stable tension in the dynamics of the flooding process was observed in the residential area in Binagadi district, in Aslanova Street in Binagadi settlement and in the adjacent territories, in flood areas in Sabunchu district, in the residential area of Dash Karkhanası, and in the settlement of Gala, Khazar region.

Natural and technogenic factors in the Nubar settlement of the Absheron region caused relative activity in the landslide and subsidence areas, and led to activity in the dynamics of a landslide and a collapse on the site in the village of Masazir.

In 2016, the department of Economic and Political Geography of the Institute reported that about 20 areas in the capital are considered landslide zones and more than 150,000 people live on the territory.

There are also many active landslide zones in the other regions of Azerbaijan including Shamakhi region, the road section of JalilabadYardimli.

The most dangerous landslide zone in Azerbaijan is the neighboring areas of the Bozdag volcano in the village of Khokmeli on the Absheron Peninsula.

Experts also argue that the number of areas which are prone to landslides in Azerbaijan has increased by four times in the past 24 years. They also believe that people are behind 80 percent of the landslides by their agricultural activity which increases the risk of landslides.
