Bunyip too strong in Youth Girls

Bunyip recorded a strong victory over Warragul Industrial­s in round four of Youth Girls football.

While the Industrial­s did well to hold the Bulldogs in the final quarter, the damage had been done early with Bunyip kicking out to an early lead. Final score: 8-12 (60) to 0-0 (0). Bunyip goals: S Notman 3, M Kemmink 2, C Anderson 2, S Denny 2, M Shaw 1, R Grenville 1.

Warragul Industrial­s best players: I Whelan, T Pratt, T Baxter, D Sophie, L Guastella, C Dare.

WonthaggiP­ower accounted for neighbours Inverloch-Kongwak in the other match, 9-6 (60) to 0-0 (0).

Meanwhile, Warragul Industrial­s senior women’s team went down in a tight contest against Tyabb on Saturday night.

The Industrial­s were able to defend well against the ladder leaders, restrictin­g their opposition to 5-8 (38), but couldn’t break through to score themselves.

Colleen Graham, Sarah Elson, Jenna Robertson, Taylor Dare and Carlee Maher were among the better players for the Warragul team.
