Run fest at Longwarry - Neerim District take win

-

Bowling honours went to Chris Butler with 3/38 supported by Bob Thomas and Beth Serong with two wickets apiece.

In reply the Crows seemed to lack a bit of fire power with the loss of an early wicket not aiding their cause.

Kevin McKenna (51 retired) kept the home side in the contest along with Chris Butler (30) and Matt Russell (35) but they really needed another big score to mount a serious challenge. Wickets were well spread amongst the bowlers with Clarke Gouge, Anthony McCann, and Greg Fusinato all picking up two.

Dane Fawcett had the best figures with 2/24 off eight.

Jindivick on top

Jindivick 5/118 def. Drouin 10/112 Jindivick had little trouble in dispensing with Drouin despite a long day in the field.

Sending the Hawks in to bat the home side struck early with both openers picking up a wicket. Wickets continued to fall on a regular basis as the batsmen struggled to get going.

Stepping up from the juniors, Nicholas Caddy kept a calm head to remain not out on 15.

Corey Downard (coming in down the order) top scored for the visitors with 26. Luke O’Donoghue (2/9) and JP Santo (3/7) were the pick of the bowlers.

In reply the Jumping Jacks came out with real intent.

Logan Colley (46) and Ariki Matwijkiw (23) combined to add 52 for the third wicket to bring their side within sight of the target.

The brothers Gnaden got to spend some time in the middle together, completing the rout in the 16th over.

Brad remained not out on 17 and Mick not out on 12. Nicholas Caddy finished with three wickets and Jayden Bibby came away with two.

Gulls hold on

Warragul 9/140 (cc) def. Yarragon 10/136

Batting first the Gulls put together some handy partnerships with their top three all making good starts.

Coming in at 3/49 Elliott Kennedy carried his bat to finish on 45 not out to be the best of the batsmen.

In reply the home side were all out for 136 after 31 overs.
