Drouin’s team and supporters found the going tough against the talented Wonthaggi 1 side away in round four of Golf croquet pennant.

Drouin started slowly, with Nanette Fray the only player for Drouin to win a singles game. The singles outcomes gave Wonthaggi 1 the necessary confidence going into the doubles rounds.

Warragul

Warragul travelled to Leongatha for their round three pennant match on Tuesday.

At the close of play Leongatha won eight games to Warragul’s six, but Warragul had the most hoops with 81 to 75.

Warragul won their games easily, and the games that they lost were very close.

Peter Eyre had a good day for the visitor, easily winning both his singles matches and combining with Julie Beasley for a strong win in the doubles.

Warragul travel to Wonthaggi today for their round four match. Results: Leongatha eight games, 75 hoops defeated Warragul six games, 81 hoops
