Heat to sizzle for Kelleher while Bolton has stranglehold on opener

- GREG ALDAM

ON an eight-race program at the Winnellie Park greyhounds, the Brian Kellehertrained Real Heat looks one of the stronger chances on the card tonight.

The son of Fabregas didn’t get a lot of luck in running when returning from a spell and, with the run under his belt, he should strip fitter and prove hard to hold out in race six over the 312m distance.

Leading trainer Steele Bolton has four of the six runners in race one, so he looks to have a mortgage on the race — particularly with his grand old campaigner engaged in Snoop A Loop. Jumping from box eight, he should prove hard to beat.

As has been the norm lately at Winnellie Park, Bolton has plenty of runners across the program – including Sunset Shieva, who looks a genuine chance in race two over 537m.

Rev Fred Sloy, despite coming back in journey, looks the one to beat in race four.

Another trainer who is having his fair share of success is Andrew Lasker and, in race two, Sketchy Butler has genuine claims going on his most recent outing when he chased home the smart Rev Fred Sloy over 537m. A repeat of that performance would put him in the finish tonight.

Lasker also has Uno Slipper in race four jumping from box eight with genuine claims, while Villa Park in race five should not be underestimated.

Other notable hopes include Pacino in race one for

Joel Vansleve, and another Bolton runner Lock In is a major player in race seven.

To finish the evening, Switched On, again for Bolton, could be the way to go to send punters home on a winning note.

First race is set down for 7.13pm and entry is free.
