Simply Crochet magazine Crank up the comfort factor with a warm winter sweater. This mirrored design has a timeless style that's suitable for all ages. Worked in Fair Isle, be sure to keep the floats on the looser side so the top hangs properly.

NOTES

Sweater is worked in pieces from the bottom up and seamed.

The colourwork sections are shown on the Chart on page 17. Each square on the Chart represents one dc stitch. Change yarn colours in the final step of the previous stitch. The colourwork is worked with floats left across the back of the work; catching floats after every 4 or 5 sts and twisting yarns at the back of the work will keep the colour changes tidy. Where there are long sections of colour you may find it helpful to wind small balls of yarn colour needed to avoid long floats; remember to twist yarns at the back of work when changing the colours to avoid holes.

START CHART

Begin working from Chart A on page 17 in double crochet as set, starting at Row 20, ending with Row 39. You will need to swap the colours shown in the Chart for Rows 21-39, so where there are Yarn A squares shown, work Yarn B and vice versa. There are 69 sts on the Chart, so you will need to work 1 (5: 8: 12) sts in Yarn B before starting the Chart, and 1 (5: 8: 12) sts in Yarn B to the end of the row after finishing the Chart.

Work 19 (21: 21: 23) rows in Yarn B only, ending with a RS row. You can increase/decrease the length of the Sweater here by working more/ fewer rows.

Starting at Row 1 and ending with Row 39, work Chart A. Add sts in Yarn A at beg and end of row as before from Rows 1-19, and sts in Yarn B at
