BANG! NAILED IT • Tiger Woods will win a major and become a playing captain at the Presidents Cup (Jimmy Emanuel). BANG!

• Despite winning ‘The Match’, Phil Mickelson’s form will start to drop off in 2019 and for the first time in 25 years he will fall out of the Top-50 of the world ranking. He will also miss the Presidents Cup for the first time since the first matches were played in 1994. BANG! • On the LPGA Tour, South Korea’s Jeongeun Lee6 earned her card through Qualifying School and will be a regular contender this year. She’s a seven-time winner on the competitiv­e Korean LPGA and will likely be the Rookie of the Year in 2019. BANG! • Playing in her second year on the LPGA Tour, Hannah Green will breakthrou­gh for her first tournament win after a few near misses. BANG! • Justin Rose and his management will confirm the Englishman is no longer a TaylorMade staff player, after 20 years with the equipment manufactur­er, having signed to be the face of Japan’s Honma Golf. BANG! • Adam Scott will surpass US$50 million in PGA Tour career earnings by the end of April. BANG! • Jin Young Ko to be the dominant female player (Rod Morri & Michael Jones). BANG!

NEAR MISSES • The pole position in men’s golf won’t be the revolving door it was in 2018 with Brooks Koepka cementing his place at the top with an early season win. (Koepka took top spot in the 20th week of the year and never relinquish­ed the position).

• Tiger Woods will break Sam Snead’s PGA Tour record of 82 victories. He’s got three to go to claim the most wins. (Tiger tied Snead’s 82 wins with his two 2019 victories). • Ernie Els will add to his list of Presidents Cup assistant captains, naming Retief Goosen and KJ Choi to stand alongside Geoff Ogilvy on the Internatio­nal Team. (Choi and Ogilvy were joined by Trevor Immelman and Mike Weir).
