SEEK SERENITY IN BLOOMS

Stephen Doherty was in Goa during monsoon season when he saw flowers tied as offerings to shrine gates. He used his artistic practice to mirror this ritual, building up washes of ink and water for his meditative floral portraits, exhibited at Belgravia’s Showstudio gallery last year. For his latest project, Doherty is designing hand-knotted rugs for the Rug Company in a collaboration initiated by the Sarabande Foundation, where he is the artist-in-residence. hl www.stephen-doherty.co.uk
