MOYES EYES BACK-UP EMI

- BY TOM HOPKINSON

NORWICH star Emi Buendia is one of the attacking midfielders on West Ham’s list of alternatives to Jesse Lingard this summer.

The Hammers would love to land Manchester United star Lingard (right, top) permanently following his impressive displays since joining on loan in January.

However, boss David Moyes has conceded funds will be limited and that could well rule them out of the running if United decide to let the 28-year-old leave.

One option would be for United to offer Lingard and cash for Declan Rice, who is on their list of targets. But he is not their No.1 choice for a new defensive midfielder, and Moyes will do everything in his power to keep hold of the

England star.

That means West Ham are having to look at other targets and Buendia has emerged as a candidate.

The 24-year-old (left, bottom) has been excellent, and been key to the Canaries’ immediate return to the Premier League.

Norwich would like to keep the Argentine, but manager Daniel Farke will need to strengthen his squad and Buendia’s sale would give him decent funds to reinvest.
