Spurs and Toon fight for Hwang
TOTTENHAM and Newcastle are monitoring Wolves striker Hee-Chan Hwang, with manager Julen Lopetegui under pressure to trim his squad.
The Spaniard was dismayed to learn some players will have to be sold so Wolves comply with Financial Fair Play rules.
Hwang, signed permanently for £14million from RB Leipzig after a successful loan spell, has impressed at Molineux.
And that has brought the South Korean, 27, to the notice of Spurs, who already have Hwang’s international team-mate Heung-Min Son at the club.
Newcastle have also made an enquiry, while Aston Villa and Roma have shown interest in the forward who is nicknamed ‘Hwangso’, Korean for bull.
Lopetegui is loath to lose the speedy striker, with Ruben Neves likely to leave and record £42m buy Matheus Nunes interesting Liverpool.
The manager wants any transfer business finished fast, so Hwang’s potential bidders must show their hands soon.
