Record Sport’s writers give their fearless forecasts ahead of this afternoon’s big clash at Parkhead
Keith Jackson
This one feels impossible to call on the basis that literally anything might happen. But, for once, Rangers will cross the Clyde in a better frame of mind than their rivals. And if Danny Rohl exploits the gaping holes in Wilfried Nancy’s defence they might just help themselves to the points. Mikey Moore and Djeidi Gassama could hold the key. Celtic 1 Rangers 2
Craig Swan
Celtic are in all sorts of trouble and Nancy cannot afford another defeat. Rangers are in decent form and avoiding defeat would suit both, a bit like the opening league meeting of the teams. That’s what might well happen. Celtic 1 Rangers 1
Scott McDermott
What could swing this game for Rangers is Rohl’s willingness to adapt and do whatever it takes to get a result. His pragmatism should win the day over Nancy’s idealism. Gers have tightened up at the back while Celtic look certain to ship goals in their 3-4-2-1 system. If Rohl’s side can be ruthless in the final third they could secure a vital victory.
Celtic 1-2 Rangers

It is hardly going likely to be a spectacle between two poor teams. Rohl’s troops have the form but I can still see the points being shared. Celtic 1 Rangers 1
Fra ser Wilson
A bang-average Rangers team against a Celtic side with better individuals but who are being hamstrung by a system that’s simply not fit for purpose. If Nancy doesn’t change then Rangers can snatch a massive win. And that would be a titlerace game-changer. Celtic 1 Rangers 2
Graeme Young
Rangers appeared a good shout before Celtic’s nightmare at Fir Park – and even more so now. Rohl knows clinical finishing will be needed to punish their stricken rivals but chances shouldn’t be hard to come by against Nancy’s kamikaze side. Celtic 1 Rangers 3
Ryan McDonald
Nancy said it himself – this is a must-win game. A derby victory might buy him time but his problems are mounting. By contrast, Rohl has worked minor miracles with a pretty dire squad and victory would put the Ibrox side firmly in the title race.
Celtic 1-3 Rangers
