Tonali exit is back on the menu
NEWCASTLE UNITED chiefs are believed to be frustrated with the latest batch of quotes from Sandro Tonali’s agent suggesting a possible summer departure.
Tonali is contracted to the Magpies until at least 2028 but agent Giuseppe Riso has spoken again about his client’s future.
Despite Arsenal sources admitting Tonali is not a target for the Gunners, Manchester City and Manchester United remain linked with the midfielder.
When asked about his move to St James’ Park, Riso said: “We considered the idea of having the player play in a higherlevel league.”
On a possible exit from Tyneside to potentially Arsenal or Manchester City, and his value postWorld Cup this summer, Riso said: “That was the goal – to try to make him a star player. He’s the Italian footballer with one of the highest values.
“If he shines at the World Cup [if Italy qualify], will City or Arsenal be hot on his heels? It’s very likely.”
