FULHAM EYE DIENG SWOOP
FULHAM have lined up Marseille striker Bamba Dieng — with their pursuit of Justin Kluivert in danger of being hijacked.
Boss Marco Silva is looking for more firepower in the final third and had targeted 23-year-old
Kluivert, son of Dutch legend Patrick.
But the move has hit the rocks over Roma’s insistence on an obligation-to-buy clause, which would guarantee them €9.5m and a sell-on clause.
Forward
Now Benfica and Sporting are circling and while Fulham wait to see who blinks first, they are looking at alternatives — with Marseille forward Dieng also in their sights.
But the 22-year-old has also been offered to Everton to solve Toffees boss Frank Lampard’s striker crisis.
Boss
Dieng looks set to leave the Ligue 1 side having fallen down the pecking order under boss Igor Tudor. Tudor secured a deal to sign Alexis Sanchez from Inter this month and club president Pablo Longoria has indicated their squad is now too top heavy.
Dieng is a target for Leeds, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Nice while Celtic have also been named in reports from France.
