BUKAYO SAKA has returned to light training to hand Arsenal a timely injury boost in their Premier League title bid. The England forward had surgery at the end of December after suffering a torn hamstring during Arsenal’s 5-1 win at Crystal Palace.

Saka is not expected back until next month but he has taken a big step towards availability by returning to strength and conditioning training.

The 23-year-old has travelled with his Arsenal team-mates to their winter training camp in Dubai, ahead of Saturday’s visit to Leicester, where he has accelerated his schedule ahead of his return to action. The club yesterday released photos of Saka completing a session at the club’s temporary base in the Middle East, to the delight of their fans. Saka cannot return soon enough for Gunners manager Mikel Arteta, who is also set to be without Gabriel Martinelli for a month due to a hamstring injury. There is hope defender Ben White will be available this weekend following a three month lay-off after knee surgery.
