CONTE CLOSING ON DIAZ
TOTTENHAM hope to make £67m-rated Luis Diaz their biggest signing of a busy end to the transfer window.
Porto forward Diaz, 25, had agreed a move to Everton in the summer only for the transfer to collapse.
Since then he has been heavily linked with Liverpool but Spurs are now in talks to sign the red-hot Colombia star.
Tottenham, though, are not willing to meet his full £67m release clause.
Boss Antonio Conte wants at least three signings made.
Moves are also afoot for Wolves winger Adama Traore and Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat but it is understood Spurs are yet to make any official bids for the trio.
Conte also wants a central defender but no progress has been made over Inter Milan pair Stefan De Vrij or Milan Skriniar, his two top targets.
The Italian is also trying to shift players with midfielder Tanguy Ndombele edging closer to a loan move to Paris St-Germain.
Diaz has 16 goals in 28 games for Porto this season and starred in last summer’s Copa America.
