MANCHESTER UNITED and Arsenal are tracking Bournemouth’s Alex Scott. The 22-year-old midfielder had a standout season for the Cherries and came close to making England’s World Cup squad.

Daily Mail Sport understands Scott will cost around £60million. United have already agreed a deal for Atalanta’s Ederson which is set to be concluded after the World Cup, but they are seeking to bolster further in midfield after the departure of Casemiro. They are also keen on West Ham star Mateus Fernandes, though Tottenham are in the hunt as well for the 21-year-old. United may yet offload another midfielder in Manuel Ugarte, for whom they will listen to offers. Bournemouth are keen to tie down star man Scott to a new deal, though that could be tricky given the number of suitors for a player whose contract expires in 2028.

Scott is regarded as one of England’s best young midfielders and was with the national team for their pre-world Cup warm-up camp in Florida earlier this month.
