‘Nego’ deal hits a snag

Talks between Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town Spurs’ attacking midfielder Abednego Mosiatlhaga (above) are believed to have hit a snag as new coach, Stuart Baxter, is not keen to have the player in his squad. Amakhosi allegedly approached the 26-year-old before appointing Baxter, and the club were willing to sell, but now it has all been halted. “Nego was looking forward to the move to Chiefs even though both parties had not gone too far in terms of formal negotiations, but the indication was that he would be heading to Naturena,” said a source. “We have not given up in our bid to get him into the top-flight and we are considering all of the options that have been placed before us. With that said, we are not going to force a move for the sake of it – it will have to be worthwhile,” the source added.
