Political hit

Pamela is a broken women and she’s ready to expose Nkaba for the murderous minister he truly is.

-

Politics is an ugly business. But there’s one man who takes the messy political game to a new level: Minister Walter Nkaba (Nimrod Nkosi), who’s proven that he’s willing to lie, cheat, steal and even murder to retain power. He once again finds himself at the centre of a tender scandal but, unlike his previous dodgy deals, this one leads to bloodshed.

KILL OR BE KILLED

Fortunately, intrepid Flying News investigative journalist Pamela (Zola Nombona) is on the case. She’s been putting the squeeze on the minister since October in an effort to link him to multi-billion rand tender fraud and, late in October, the damning Nkaba article was published. “That story led to a formal investigation,” Zola reminds us. But the article also dealt a devastating blow to Pamela when she was told her husband Siyanda (Kay Sibiya) had committed suicide.

Convinced that Nkaba had a hand in Siyanda’s death, Pamela goes on a dangerous mission to expose the shady politician. And no threat from anyone could dissuade her. “She’s relentless!” exclaims Zola. “The danger is thrilling for her.” But is her character’s grief perhaps blinding her from the true danger she’s facing? “She knows exactly who she’s dealing with, but she’s gutsy and fearless,” Zola assures us.

STALK THE PREY

Her first port of call is local supercop Detective Pele (Andile Nebulane). “Pamela can’t believe her husband, who was so excited about their marriage and growing their family, would kill himself,” explains Zola. “She asks Detective Pele to question Nkaba about the day Siyanda died, but Pele says there isn’t enough evidence linking Nkaba to Siyanda’s death.”

Not convinced, Pamela sets off on her own investigation. “Desperate, Pamela starts stalking Nkaba,” adds Zola. From following Nkaba’s every move to even listening in on his conversations – the actress is adamant that Pamela “will get Detective Pele the evidence he needs”.

BACK OFF!

Soon, Nkaba realises he’s being tailed, and he goes to the police – but not to hand himself over. “He gets a restraining order against Pamela,” spills Zola. The actress also reveals that this isn’t enough to send Pamela hiding. Instead, it motivates her to keep digging for the truth – clearly, Nkaba has a bloody trail to hide. Whether she’ll survive to publish the explosive story is another matter. Very few people who have crossed Nkaba have escaped his grip alive…
