Noor Dubai Foundation’s medical camp
Noor Dubai Foundation’s third medical camp was held in Puttalam recently. The foundation collaborated with the country in 2008 and visited it in 2009 to screen and treat 10,000 individuals.
The city of Puttalam lacks the specialised medical facilities and professionals required to treat ophthalmic diseases. The thousands of people residing in the city depend on a specialist from the capital who visits once a week and charitable foundations such as Noor Dubai Foundation.
The camp which received support from humanitarian organisations and the government of Sri Lanka, treated people from Puttalam as well as surrounding areas where patients were provided with buses to bring them to the camp for treatment.
Noor Dubai Foundation is supported by the initiative from His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs, UAE and Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Women Establishment.
