A TRADE union has become so indoctrinated with trans ideology it sent a biological man to a women’s conference, an employment tribunal has been told.

Fiona Macdonald, a member for more than 20 years, is suing the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) Union, accusing it of discriminating against her because of her gender critical beliefs.

A preliminary hearing in Glasgow was told the case will expose how trans ideology has taken over the union. Lawyer Naomi Cunningham told the tribunal: ‘It’s a matter of record that the respondent sent a trans-identifying man – a man who says he’s a woman – as its delegate to the women’s Trade Union Conference in Bournemouth in March.

‘And that is just one of many instances that the claimant will be relying on at the full hearing of this case to show that the respondent has, in fact, adopted gender identity theory as its institutional belief.’

She told the hearing of social media posts from the union’s official feed referencing Saorsa Tweedale.

Ms Cunningham said: ‘Saorsa Tweedale is a trans-identifying man who is regularly featured in the PCS feed despite his highly contentious gender ideological stance.’

The lawyer, who represented nurse Sandie Peggie against NHS Fife and trans medic Dr Beth Upton last year, told the hearing the union treated landmark rulings which state sex is biological and gender critical belief is protected as ‘problems to be navigated around’.
