Kids’ time on the boobtube
GMA Network gives kids more attention this season with the premiere of two children’s shows on Saturday mornings.
My Chubby World was first to begin airing on May 14, showcasing children’s love for playing, creating, performing, and discovering things about the world. Every episode, it gives a fun countdown of things and activities that children are interested in.
Being for and about kids, My Chubby World also lets children do the talking with its four bright and energetic hosts: Renz Valerio from the hit series Bantatay, Zyrael Jestre who presently stars in My Lover, My Wife, Daniela Amable and Gianna Cutler who were both last seen in Beauty Queen.
The hosts enumerate top seven things that kids like for the topic or theme of the week—be it children’s favorite sports, pets, earth-friendly habits, entertainment and more.
Directed by Don Michael Perez, one of the directors of Bantatay, the program helps kids to stay updated the latest and coolest stuff. It also guides parents through things that get their children enthusiastic and all fired up.
Meanwhile, Sabadabadog premieres tomorrow as a fun, colorful and educational show aimed at pre-schoolers, aged three to six years old. Thirty minutes long, the program seeks to provide entertaining, age-appropriate, culturally-relevant songs, stories, dances, animation, mascot segments, learning segments, short features, music videos and other formats that can help in the wholistic development of children.
Led by veteran children’s program host Kuya Tonipet Gaba, Sabadabadog also features four brand-new mascots: Don Kahon, Mei-Mei, Bebe Garu and Sabadabadog who will help kids learn and have fun at the same time.
A production of the GMA Public Affairs group Sabadabadog is from the same creative and production team that created the long-running and award-winning children’s program Art Angel.
In cooperation with Rebisco’s Chubby Candy, GMA 7 airs My Chubby World every Saturday at 8:15 a. m. Sabadabadog premieres this Saturday, 8:45 a.m.
