MIRI: Inner Wheel Club (IWC) Miri yesterday reached out to 30 needy families badly affected by Movement Control Order at several villages in Tudan resettlement area here.

Its president, Florence Enau together with Cecilia Sman (deputy president) and Heilda Amer (secretary) handed over the donation with the support of Heilda’s family members.

Florence said the recipients were selected with the help of Junaidi Mahali, former chairman of Kampung Tudan 2A Village Development and Security Committee, (JKKK) who accompanied the group during the distribution.

“The criteria are poor families with sick elderly members or persons with special needs (OKU) without work or income during this trying period,” she said to thesundaypost yesterday.

Food items donated were 10kg premium rice, cooking oil, sauce, eggs, salt and sugar, crackers, noodles, canned food and syrup.

“A big thank you to IWC members and volunteers for the success of the outreach programme. We are a very small club with only seven members but with big loving hearts.

“Special thanks also to Zorah for personal donation of RM900 and the public who had supported IWC Miri past fundraising projects,” added Florence,

The donation yesterday was the second outreach programme this year after school bags and stationary were given to 24 needy students of SRK Pujut Corner in conjunction with the visit of Inner Wheel District 331 (Singapore, Sarawak and Sabah) chairperson cum board director of International Inner Wheel, Shirin Rustom Ghadiali.
