Mazembe after Yeye

-

Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane could leave South Africa and ply his trade outside the country for the first time in his career. The hugely talented midfielder was one of the players at some point earmarked for a big overseas move but it just never happened for him. He was recently released by TS Galaxy, where he had spent the last season as one of the players carried over from Highlands Park when Tim Sukazi bought the club’s DStv Premiership status last year. With his salary scale said to be a little too steep for any of the local clubs, the 36-year-old could be lost to the local game for a while. Phakaaathi learnt that Yeye is on the wanted list of Democratic Republic of Congo giants, TP Mazembe. They are said to have spoken to Letsholonyane’s agent to find out if he would be interested. Mazembe are one of the richest clubs on the continent, but he still has family and business interests outside of football.
