TripAdvisor review ranks business among best
Holiday cottages in Lochearnhead are amongst a select group of businesses in the world to have been awarded top marks for customer service excellence by tourism review website TripAdvisor.
Briar Cottages owners Kim and Fraser Proven have been awarded the Certificate of Excellence after achieving a five out of five.
The award, now in its fifth year, celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to establishments which consistently achieve great reviews on TripAdvisor. Certificate of Excellence winners include global tourism businesses that have continually delivered a superior customer experience.
TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to select award winners based on: quality, quantity, recency of reviews, opinions submitted by travellers over a 12-month period as well as a business’s tenure and ranking according to the site’s Popularity Index. A business must maintain an overall bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
Briar Cottages has consistently been awarded top marks by guests since the programme began.
The luxury cottages lie within three acres of ancient crofting grounds on the banks of Loch Earn in Lochearnhead village.
Kim and Fraser bought Briar Cottages in 2008 launching with Little Briar, a two-bedroom cottage, before building luxury Briar Steading in 2010. Today, the Provens promote their self-catering cottages with all- inclusive trout fishing and use of their slipway, moorings, petanque piste, lawn putting, summer house and hot tub.
Guests are invited to see inside the Provens’ B listed thatched cottage to view the original cruck timber framed ceiling and to hear stories of past tenants from McLaren and MacGregor clans.
