Disgusting behaviour from Newcastle fans
I WAS so disgusted with some of the Newcastle United fans who attended the match against Glasgow Celtic on July 19.
Both their behaviour prior to the game and their post-match comments were a disgrace and also pathetic.
Visiting a Rangers pub before the match and singing along with their fans’ anti-catholic songs and chants was totally abhorrent behaviour.
Their fathers and grandfathers should remind them how the Rangers fans invaded the St James’ pitch in the late 1960s Fairs Cup semi-final and tried to get the match abandoned, notwithstanding fighting and causing fear among the home fans.
Post-match violence and trashing the city centre followed as per usual.
As for calling Glasgow Celtic a Championship team and a Sunday League team after a 4-0 thrashing, I think is obviously a bit childish and petty.
