Betrayal of rural UK
TODAY, tens of thousands of people will venture into the countryside to support the Boxing Day trail hunts.
But if Labour bans this field sport before 2029, these meetings may be among the last – a sad ending to a beloved tradition. Since taking power, ministers have waged war on rural Britain, fuelled by misplaced class envy.
The callous inheritance tax raid on farms, despite being diluted, will still push scores to the brink of bankruptcy. And the Government’s animal welfare strategy and plan to cover fields in solar panels will harm those making a living from agriculture.
A Countryside Alliance poll is damning. Two-thirds of voters believe Labour doesn’t care about rural communities. Given how badly the party has betrayed the countryside, the only surprise is it’s not more.
