Footballer says thanks
GOUROCK footballer Luke McCowan has added his voice to those thanking the public for supporting Ardgowan Hospice’s fundraising appeal.
The Celtic star, who is a patron of the hospice, shared his gratitude in a message posted on the hospice’s social media channels.
His message comes hard on the heels of a similar ‘thank you’ post from another wellknown Ardgowan Hospice patron and supporter, Martin Compston.
The hospice launched an urgent appeal for donations from the public in February after warning that it faced a significant shortfall in funding due to rising costs, increasing demand and insufficient government funding.
Luke said: “A huge thank you for all the support and donations shown to Ardgowan Hospice. There’s been £100,000 raised, which is an incredible amount of money.
“Any further donations, or support shown to the hospice, will be greatly appreciated.”
The appeal closed last night, after this edition of the
went to press.
