Taurwen Unveils Palingenesia — A Dark Folk Revival from Turkish Composer Oğuzhan Durukan

TAURWEN UNVEILS PALINGENESIA — A DARK FOLK REVIVAL FROM TURKISH COMPOSER OĞUZHAN DURUKAN

- Entertainment · Music

Turkish composer and producer Oğuzhan Durukan, known under his project Taurwen, returns with Palingenesia — a deeply atmospheric exploration of dark folk and pagan soundscapes. Released on 14 March 2025, the album is available digitally across all major platforms and as a limited-edition cassette through Fiadh Productions. Emerging in the early 2020s with his distinctive neo-classical dungeon synth works, Durukan has evolved into a master of evocative composition. Palingenesia continues this evolution, weaving together haunting melodies, ritualistic rhythms, and cinematic textures that evoke ancient mysticism and spiritual rebirth.

The result is a sonic journey that transcends genre — bridging the raw earthiness of pagan folk with the meditative depth of ambient music.

With its careful attention to organic instrumentation and emotional storytelling, Palingenesia cements Taurwen’s place among today’s most innovative independent composers. For listeners drawn to immersive, mythic sound worlds, this release offers an experience that feels both timeless and transformative.
