Wounded Chiefs off to lion’s den

On Saturday, wounded Kaizer Chiefs will be in Morocco to face two-time CAF Champions League winners, Wydad Casablanca. This is Amakhosi’s first ever appearance in the group stages of the competition as a club and the first time Gavin Hunt has made it past the early rounds and into the main stages as a coach. The game is set for a 22h00 commencement (South African time) and will test the Soweto giants’ levels of preparation, quality and experience from the get-go. There is no winnable home match to set things in motion in the competition, but it’s straight from the frying pan and into the fire for Amakhosi.
