Khattar renames K’shetra village after Abhimanyu

K UR UK SHE T RA: Ha ryan a chief minister Man oh ar L al K hat tar on Friday visited several religious places in Kurukshetr­a district and performed rituals.

During his visit to Amin village in the district, the CM announced to rename it as Ab himanyupur. He issued directions for the constructi­on of a park with a statue of Ab him anyu in the village and widen the AminThanes­ar road.

He said the primary health centre will be upgraded to community health centre. He directed that a map should be prepared for the nearby pilgrimage sites in Rantuk Ya ks hT ira th. Talking to mediaperso­ns at Rantuk Yaksh T ira th, K hat tar said the state government was preparing a route map of pilgrim age sites on nearly 175-km radius of Kurukshetr­a city to boost tourism. A special bus service will be started from October 14 to facilitate tourists.

He visited to 15 pilgrimage sites and said that the land of Ku rukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Jind and Kai th al is known for its glorious history.

During his visit to Ban Ganga Tirath at Dayalpur village, he said the Kurukshetr­a Developmen­t Board will maintain cleanlines­s at all ponds located at pilgrim age sites and arrangemen­ts would be made to fill them with clean water.

He announced that a ground and ghats will be developed in Kirmach village and new road would be constructe­d from the fairground to the pilgrim age site. At Shalihotra Tirath, the CM announced to construct a statue ofYudh is ht ir at the T ira th in Sarsa village.

He also visited Galedwa village to pay tributes to freedom fighter K art ar Singh, who passed away on Friday at the age of 103. He said Kartar Singh played an important role in the freedom movement and announced that the government will carry developmen­tal works after his name.
