CHANDIGARH: The press conference, jointly conducted by Gurugram-born Bollywood actor Raj Kumar Rao of‘ Newton’ fame and principal secretary to Haryana chief minister RK Khullar, on Thursday took an interesting turn when the latter vouched for it, saying it’s a must watch for all, especially government employees.

“I strongly espouse it to be a must-watch film for all government employees,” and added that the film will also be shown to all police personnel at the Haryana police academy at Madhuban in Karnal,” he said. Rao had earlier called on the CM when he was presented with a draft of the Haryana film policy by the CM. During the meet, Rao gave a brief about the film, which was also India’s official entry for Oscars.

The interaction took an interesting turn when principal secretary joined the conversation and said the film was on a simple but upright government employee who searches for solutions amidst bureaucratic and social ‘chaos’. Khullar also asked Rao to re-enact a few scenes from the movie and the actor obliged.

Khullar said he had held no press conference ever since he became the principal secretary to the CM, but was tempted to join after seeing ‘Newton’.

Things took another turn when a scribe asked Khullar to comment on the state government’s handling of Dera Sacha Sauda case. A stunned Khullar said, “An incident could be often seen and understood through different perspectives”.

Another asked Khullar if ‘Newton’ would be declared taxfree. “There is no such provision under the GST regime,” he said.

When another scribe asked him as to how Ram Rahim’s MSG, which was declared taxfree by Khattar government, any better, Khullar chose to remain silent.
